Waiver Wire aka STUD FINDER – Week 17

I maintain that fantasy football should not extend to Week 17, as there is too much uncertainty with teams benching players, etc. However, since some people are still going, we’ve got your waiver wire targets for the week.

Unfortunately, the end of the season doesn’t make for a ton of new names on the top of the wire, so we’ve also included guys from previous posts that should get an add, if still available.

QB

Top streaming options:

Jimmy Garoppolo (SF) @ LAR – While it was certainly unexpected, it feels like Jimmy G became matchup proof against Jacksonville. Granted it was at home, and he didn’t have a monster game, he looked great. The Los Angeles Rams on the road won’t be an easy assignment by any means, but it seems like he’ll continue to give the Niners a shot to win.

Waiver Wire aka STUD FINDER – Playoff Finals (Week 16)

Championship week…let’s go!!! Whether you had a star get hurt in the semis or want to keep an opponent from scooping some help, the following players should be at the top of your list.

Unfortunately, the last week of the season doesn’t make for a ton of new names on the top of the waiver wire, so we’ve also included guys from previous posts that should get an add if still available.

QB

Top streaming options:

Blake Bortles (JAX) @ SF – Feels like cheating to have him as a streamer since he’s been on fire the past few weeks, but he’s still available in many leagues.

Blake.gif

Nick Foles (PHI) vs OAK

Joe Flacco (BAL) vs IND

RB

Wayne Gallman (NYG)

WR

*Robert Woods (LAR) – Woods was back Week 15 and even in a tough matchup against the Seattle Seahawks he put up a nice game. He needs to be rostered, and probably started, this week against a very weak Tennessee Titans defense.

*Martavis Bryant (PIT) – Antonio Brown  is out this week, and that makes Bryant a very appealing option opposite JuJu Smith-Schuster.

*Keelan Cole (JAX) – Cole and Blake Bortles have been terrific as of late. With Marqise Lee still banged up, look for Cole to continue to draw a ton of targets from Bortles. Oh, and he plays San Francisco this week. Nice.

Mike Wallace (BAL)

Randall Cobb (GB)

TE

Eric Ebron (DET)

Ricky Seals-Jones (ARI)

Ben Watson (BAL)

Waiver Wire aka STUD FINDER – Playoff Semifinals (Week 15)

Whether you squeaked out a win, or scored the league high during your bye week, you’re onto the semifinals. Nice work. If you’re still in need of some help, the following players should be your top waiver wire targets for the semifinals.

Keep in mind, only players with an asterisk are “must-adds” for the week. The other players are ones that can be added if you need a bye-week replacement or depth at that particular position, and are in order of our preference.

Not a ton of new names on the top of the waiver wire this week, so we’ve also included guys from previous posts that should get an add if still available.

QB

AARON RODGERS PSA: IF HE IS SOMEHOW STILL AVAILABLE, YOU NEED TO GET HIM.

Jimmy Garoppolo (SF) vs TEN

Joe Flacco (BAL) @ CLE

RB

Theo Riddick (DET)

Wayne Gallman (NYG)

Rod Smith (DAL)

Tarik Cohen (CHI)

WR

*Robert Woods (LAR) – Potentially dropped in your league over the three weeks he missed, Woods is likely back this week. He’ll fill back into his spot as a target hog in a high scoring offense. Tough matchup this week against Seattle, but gets Tennessee in the Week 16 Championship. You’ll want him for that.

Marquise Goodwin (SF)

Dede Westbrook (JAX)

Waiver Wire aka STUD FINDER – Playoff Quarterfinals (Week 14)

They’re finally here – the fantasy football playoffs! Hopefully you’ve been able to secure your place in the mix, and not duking it out in the consolation bracket. Even if you’re a playoff team, you can usually get better. If you’re still in need of some help, the following players should be your top waiver wire targets for the quarterfinals.

Keep in mind, only players with an asterisk are “must-adds” for the week. The other players are ones that can be added if you need a bye-week replacement or depth at that particular position, and are in order of our preference.

QB

Aaron Rodgers will likely be back Week 15 to take on the Carolina Panthers. If he is somehow still available in your league, get him now.

Top streaming options (this hasn’t changed much week to week):

Case Keenum (MIN) @ CAR

Josh McCown (NYJ) @ DEN

RB

*Giovani Bernard (CIN) – Joe Mixon suffered would could be a big injury in Monday Night’s game. If he missed Week 14, Bernard will fill in as a high volume back that needs to be added wherever possible.

Peyton Barber (TB)

Mike Davis (SEA)

WR

Jermaine Kearse (NYJ)

Kenny Stills

TE

*Cameron Brate (TB) – Jameis Winston is back, and that means so is Brate. Teams who are waiting on the status of Zach Ertz and Rob Gronkowski would do well to add Brate this week.

Trey Burton (PHI)

Julius Thomas (MIA)

Waiver Wire aka STUD FINDER – Week 13

This is probably your last chance to make a playoff push. Make it count and take a look at the following players who should be the top waiver wire priorities for Week 13.

Keep in mind, only players with an asterisk are “must-adds” for the week. The other players are ones that can be added if you need a bye-week replacement or depth at that particular position, and are in order of our preference.

QB

Top streaming options:

Tyrod Taylor (BUF) vs NE

Case Keenum (MIN) @ ATL

Josh McCown (NYJ) v KC

Blake Bortles (JAX) vs IND

RB

*Kenyan Drake (MIA) – Featured in our Week 9 post, Drake is now the RB1 in Miami. Damien Williams has a very slim chance of playing this week, which means Drake is in for a lot of work.

Rex Burkhead (NE)

Jacquizz Rodgers (TB)

WR

*Marquise Goodwin (SF) – Featured in our Week 11 post, this is probably your last chance to scoop Goodwin. He’s the #1 WR in SF, and now has Jimmy Garoppolo at QB. His stock should continue to rise.

Dede Westbrook (JAX)

Martavis Bryant (PIT)

TE

*Austin Seferian-Jenkins (NYJ) – ASJ continues to get looks from Josh McCown and is finding the endzone (regardless of whether or not the score counts). The New York Jets take on the Kansas City Chiefs this week in what could be a high scoring affair.

Waiver Wire aka STUD FINDER – Week 12

The following players should be the top waiver wire priorities for Week 12.

Keep in mind, only players with an asterisk are “must-adds” for the week. The other players are ones that can be added if you need a bye-week replacement or depth at that particular position, and are in order of our preference.

QB

Top streaming options:

Tyrod Taylor (BUF) @ KC – Assuming that Sean McDermott realizes that Taylor is their best option going forward, of course.

T Mobile

Andy Dalton (CIN) vs CLE

Ryan Fitzpatrick (TB) @ ATL

RB

*Samaje Perine (WAS) – In our column last week, Perine is now the only back left in Washington. If he’s still available he’s worth a top waiver priority add.

*Latavius Murray (MIN) – Same here. While Jerick McKinnon is still going to get touches, Murray looks like the much better fantasy bet, as he gets many more goal line touches. If still available, scoop.

Danny Woodhead (BAL)

J.D. McKissic (SEA)

Devontae Booker (DEN)

Austin Ekeler (LAC)

WR

*Cooper Kupp (LAR) – Should no longer be available in your league, but with Robert Woods being out for “a couple weeks” and Sammy Watkins still not producing, Kupp is now the WR1 in Los Angeles.

Corey Coleman (CLE)

Kenny Stills (MIA)

Waiver Wire aka STUD FINER – Week 11

The following players should be the top waiver wire priorities for Week 11.

Keep in mind, only players with an asterisk are “must-adds” for the week. The other players are ones that can be added if you need a bye-week replacement or depth at that particular position, and are in order of our preference.

QB

Top streaming options:

Blake Bortles (JAX) @ CLE

Eli Manning (NYG) vs KC

RB

*Jamaal Williams (GB) – In our column back in Week 5, Williams has again been put in a good position to get a lot of work for the Packers. Aaron Jones is out for a while, and Ty Montgomery is banged up. He’s not going to be winning you many matchups, but should be a consistent option for those in need down the stretch.

Latavius Murray (MIN)

Samaje Perine (WAS)

Rex Burkhead (NE)

WR

*Marquise Goodwin (SF) – While it was against the New York Giants, Goodwin filled in well as the 49ers top pass catcher. He should continue to get a lot of work as the Niners will likely trail most games and need to air it out.

Goodwin.gif

Dede Westbrook (JAX)

Josh Doctson (WAS)

Brandon LaFell (CIN)

Dontrelle Inman (CHI)

K

*Harrison Butker (KC) – Similar to Gostkowski last week, Butker is one of the best kickers in the league, but was also probably dropped last week with the Chiefs on bye. He’ll continue to build up his strong rookie season for the rest of the year.

Waiver Wire aka STUD FINDER – Week 10

The following players should be the top waiver wire priorities for Week 10.

Keep in mind, only players with an asterisk are “must-adds” for the week. The other players are ones that can be added if you need a bye-week replacement or depth at that particular position, and are in order of our preference.

QB

Top streaming options:

Jared Goff (LAR) vs HOU

Josh McCown (NYJ) @ TB

RB

*Danny Woodhead (BAL) – Likely one of the hottest pickups next week as he’s first eligible to play in Week 11, now is the time to get Woodhead.

WR

*Robert Woods (LAR) – Woods continues to produce for a Los Angeles offense that is leading the league in scoring. He’s also leading his team in targets, receptions, and yards. Yup, sign me up.

*Corey Davis (TEN) – While it wasn’t a break out game for Davis, he’s clearly a starter on what can be a high-powered offense. Cincinnati will be a relatively tough test this week, but this is probably one of your last chances to get him.

Corey Coleman (CLE)

Terrance Williams (DAL)

TE

*Greg Olsen (CAR) – Unless your league has an IR spot, Olsen is likely sitting on waivers. Similar to Woodhead, Olsen is still not eligible to return to action but will be a top pickup option when he is (Week 12). Better get him now before he’s gone.

K

*Stephen Gostkowski (NE) – Gostkowski is probably the best kicker in the league, but is also probably on waivers in your league following the Patriots’ bye. Get him.

DEF

*Pittsburgh Steelers @ Indianapolis Colts – Coming off of a bye week, they were likely dropped in many leagues. However, the Steelers defense is one of the best in the league and needs to be rostered. Go ahead and get them if they’re available.

Waiver Wire aka STUD FINDER – Week 9

TRADE DEADLINE DAY!!! A couple moves that will have an impact on the waiver wire this week. The following players should be the top waiver wire priorities for Week 9.

Keep in mind, only players with an asterisk are “must-adds” for the week. The other players are ones that can be added if you need a bye-week replacement or depth at that particular position, and are in order of our preference.

QB

Another weak week for QB pickups, so we’ll give you the top few streaming options again:

Drew Stanton (ARI) @ San Francisco

Jay Cutler (MIA) vs Oakland

RB

*Alex Collins (BAL) – The NFL leader in yards per carry, Collins continues to get work in a banged up backfield. Danny Woodhead is on the mend and may be back after the bye week, but Collins should continue to get enough touches to be playable.

*Kenyan Drake & Damien Williams (MIA) – Jay Ajayi is headed to Philadelphia, opening up the RB1 spot in Miami. It’s unclear which back will take over the starting role, but Drake and Williams should be added in all formats regardless.

*Alfred Morris & Darren McFadden (DAL) – On this list earlier in the year, both Dallas backups are top pickups again this week. Uncertainly regarding Zeke Elliott remains, but if he does miss time Morris and DMC are must-adds. However, if when Zeke is active, both are unplayable. This is a situation to continue monitoring.

WR

*JuJu Smith-Schuster (PIT) – On our list last week, this is your last chance to get JuJu. He had a monster game against a tough Lions secondary, and could be the WR2 for the Steelers going forward. Martvais Bryant is still lingering, but seems to have fallen completely out of favor with coach Mike Tomlin.

JuJu's bike

*Corey Davis (TEN) – Davis and Marcus Mariota should both be close to 100% coming out of the bye, and this has the potential to be a very dynamic duo.

Paul Richardson (SEA)

TE

Jack Doyle (IND)

Vernon Davis (WAS)

DEF

*Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets – Coming off of a bye week, they were likely dropped in many leagues. Yes, the Jets have shown some promise throughout the season, but the Bills have a legitimately good defense and will be a good play the rest of the way. Scoop them if they hit the wire during Week 8.

Waiver Wire aka STUD FINDER – Week 8

After a few weeks plagued with injuries, we start to get into the thick of bye weeks. The following players should be the top waiver wire priorities for the week.

Keep in mind, only players with an asterisk are “must-adds” for the week. The other players are ones that can be added if you need a bye-week replacement or depth at that particular position, and are in order of our preference.

QB

Not a ton of great pickups at QB this week, so we’ll give you the top few streaming options:

Andy Dalton (CIN) vs IND

Tyrod Taylor (BUF) vs OAK

RB

*DeAndre Washington & Jalen Richard (OAK) – Marshawn Lynch lost his appeal, and will serve his one game suspension this week. He’s also looked pretty bad thus far. Both Washington and Richard have looked better, and will be in line for a lot of work this week. Tough to tell who will be the better add, and either could bring value to a lineup in need, but most signs point to Washington being the better bet of the two. One might even emerge as the starter over Lynch!

Kenny Golloday (DET)

JuJu Smith-Schuster (PIT)

*Cincinnati Bengals vs Indianpolis Colts – Everyone on the Bengals is a high caliber stream this week. The Colts’ defense is awful, and the offense is inconsistent at best.
